OU recruit arrested on felony charges.

I know, can you believe it? By the way, the Sooner men take the court tonight for their Sweet 16 game. It has been quite an improvement in the classroom as well. They went from a ZERO graduation rate to 38%. Boomer!

Here's the story on the recruit.

My faux voicemail message to Ron Moore.

Pick up the phone, Ron. Doosh!

Hey, I got a great idea. Now that we have destroyed our enemy and found the 'real' Earth, let's crash all of our space technology into the sun and turn the remaining Centurions loose. Then with no explanation, let's just have Starbuck disappear in the middle of a conversation. Genius! NOT!

The first half of the finale was okay. Cool effects. Nice end to the cylon colony. I dug that part. Then..... a final 'OK corral' ending to the skinjobs that are 'evil'. Whatever. Yay! Galactica wins.

2 episodes ago I thought they established that Galactica was a flying Edsel. Then all the sudden it can just jump into the hive and get shot at point blank range for an hour?

Honestly, I knew I wasn't going to be happy with it. I've been pissed off at you and the writers since they blew up the Pegasus. I'm pissed that you never killed off Baltar. He sucks and that skinjob was kinda hot 5 years ago, but after 5 years of whorin around the galaxy, it shows...Also, the original BSG revolved around Apollo and Starbuck. Your show just teased but never really delivered there. C'mon dude, what's your problem? Why do you hate love?

I never really understood why we had to see the XO and the Admiral at a strip club "back in the day". Only to show Adama puking then looking up at the stars and smiling. Why have all the background? The President bangs younger dude, then all the sudden wants to get on the campaign trail? OK? Why was this necessary...OH I see. They had lives before the attack on the colonies. Well, if you didn't cover that after season 2, then why bring it up in the last? The background on Baltar was good, if you like background stories that explain nothing.

Ron, I'm just angry that the show is ending. But you know what? You are a genius because BSG is the greatest prick tease show of all-all times!

Oh, and I'm done...if you think I'm gonna watch the television movie from the cylon perspective and the huge dewsh spin off Caprica, then you be crazy. (sigh)

What am I saying? Just kidding Ron. (haha...sigh) Please, Call me back, we can undo this. After all, it has happened before....

The tee vee

This is the transcript from the "Consider this by Dan Jackson". He read this during a KCBD broadcast.

"Right now, state leaders are literally arguing over voter identification rules. At issue is a bill that would require voters to show identification at the polls. "

"The only thing needed now is a voter registration card - no picture id required. This law would change that. A similar bill failed in Austin a couple of years ago. Now, how anyone could argue that identifying yourself as a real voter is a bad idea is beyond me. Detractors will say it discourages minority participation and I strongly disagree.
"

"We're all required to show id when opening a checking account, buying things, cashing a check, drinking alcohol, even travelling; but not voting - and it's the most important duty we have as Americans. "

"Consider this, as this debate continues in Austin, I encourage you to speak up. Personally, I'm disappointed that West Texas Representative Delwin Jones went against his party and voted against this two years ago. I hope he's had a change of heart. "

Click here for contact information for our West Texas delegation. Let them know how you feel about voter identification. Not only do I think proving who you are at the polls is a good idea, not mandating it is borderline negligent.

We want to know what you think. Voice your opinion by e-mailing us at considerthis@kcbd.com or write us at:

Dear Dan Jackson,

I think you should wear black face and change the name of this segment to, Consider this by Jim Crow.

The Payper

The Class A boys Basketball final was an all West Texas affair. Roscoe Plowboys versus the Plains Cowboys. Overtime classic with Roscoe winning.

Lubbock Estacado lost to Dallas Madison in overtime. Oh so close, and yet....

China is makin monee and wants to kill yew. Terrorists are bad and are tryin to kill yew. Stem cells are peeple and trying to kill yew. The Russians are backwant to kill yew. Obama is presudunt and wants to kill yew. It's been a rough year fer the local Conservative Columnist.

The Raydeo

The tee vee

The tee vee said the gubment was doing a census to count how many people thare are in Texas. This time thare countin all the Mexicans too. Last time they seemed to miss some. Mike Leach talked about Winston Churchill and emergent Basque eccentrics in post-Inquisition pre-Rennaisance art. Then he said we were goin to find out who wants to play sum futball this sprang. He said he wuz glad he is in Lubbock. They mentioned the Lubbock payper going up.

The Payper

The payper costs $2 on Sundee now. Thare tryin to make a profit and said on the tee vee that revenue was important and wiff the economee down it wasn't doin it no more. The payper also said tha Ladee Rayders lost due to turnovers and not being able to score points. The Tech men lost due to the problem wiff playin Oklahoma. Said that O Yew has really good players and Tech missed some shots or they would have won. The editorials said the economee is Obama's fault. The letters to the editor thanked George Bush for doing such a good job.

The Raydeo

I listen to Ron Grant on Kool 98 weekdays frum 2 to whenever he aint playin music no more. Next week I hope he plays Amos Moses and Wichita Linemen every damn day, as he should. The morning sports show on the Republican network was live from CPAC. They were pissed off and makin excuses cause thare guy, that just so happens to be a brown person too, wasn't as good at speakin as tha Presidant. Then Rush said he wanted them people to stop listenin to him if they were gonna bash on Jindal. Then they said Reagan was good at borrowin monee and that we are now paying back the interest on that, but that was on the satellite raydeo so it must be lies!

Meanwhile back at the ranch

Texas Tech muckety mucks and our politicians are 'fighting' for Texas Tech to get to Tier 1 status. This amuses me a great deal, as some of you know.

Texas Tech is never going to get tier 1, at least not from any outstanding effort done by the State of Texas.

We went through this charade back a couple of years ago. California has 9 Tier 1 schools. Texas has 2 (A&M and UT), both of which are funded by the Permanent University Fund. Blah Blah Blah.

The charade works like this.

Step 1: talk up in media possible Tier 1 status for schools like UH, UT-Dallas, North Texas, etc. etc.

Step 2: Never let them have the adequate funding.

Result: Muckety Mucks from different schools get some good local publicity for fighting the good fight.

The reason we go through the charade is too keep the two obese systems from having to possibly be questioned in the manner in which it dispenses it's funding. The PUF has never been up for discussion, but their is 9 billion in it last time I checked, and that was after some setbacks.

Why am I the only one that gets it?

Moral hazard

Ok folks, I have been studying this here economic meltdown with my tier 3 edumuhcashun, and I think I have ciphered out a few things.

People will do dishonest things to make a buck if there is little or no oversight, or if the oversight is in on the fix. I equate this to Big 12 referees giving Texas calls in football games. We all know its going on, and despite the obvious being pointed out time after time, it keeps happening. Big 12 referees ought to apply for jobs with the SEC. Not the Conference but the Securities Exchange Commission.

See what I did here?

Today, I had a customer write a check from the bank that has the wagon train on their logo. They suck rhinoceros ass, by the way. Well today, they made me wait 30 minutes to cash a check until I spoke with a "Personal Banker". The banker was a bitch. I asked, "why are you guys doing this?" She said, "we must do it to get more accounts on the books. It's just what we do." I said, "hmmm, does pissing people off work?"

She cashed the check.

The payper

The payper had a leeter to the editor bitchin about Maria Elena Holly havin her name on a park in town with Buddy. The payper also had some pictures from Bush bein in Mitlands after he weren't presedent no more. The were took aboput 20 days or so ago. Must be big news.

Rush said that we need to stop the Democrats in their tracks. Hannity said the Democrats were screwing up the country. The gold medal guy smokes weed and baseball players take steroids and you can get a wide variety of pecker stimulants if you'll call an 800 number.

OU loses another recruit to Texas Tech

Hahahahaha! I think the word is out about Bob. If you want your kids to play football and get an education. You better think twice about Oklahoma. OU currently has the lowest graduation rate in the Big 12 Conference.

This one is something called a Middle Linebacker.

Rivals.com reported Sunday afternoon that linebacker Brandon Mahoney of Fossil Ridge High School in Keller, Texas, has decommitted from Oklahoma and has given a verbal commitment to Texas Tech. It's the third Sooner decommitment in less than month to a Big 12 South school, and the second who switched to Texas Tech. Mahoney visited Texas A&M last week. Previously, Darius Jones, an athlete/defensive back from Marshall, Texas, switched his commitment from OU to Baylor, and Eric Ward, a wide receiver from Wichita Falls, Texas, changed his pledge to Texas Tech. OU now has 22 verbal commitments in the 2009 class. Prospects are allowed to give non-binding verbal commitments to any school until they've signed a letter of intent. National signing day is Wednesday.

We also got two more commitments on Sunday. By my count, that means Tech only has 2 or so schoolies left. Mike Leach always has grey shirts. Also, this is the first recruiting class in school history with 4 blue chippers. I believe our previous high was 2. Then there is still two blue chippers left to decide, both being WR's.

It looks like that trend is over of Tech losing out on blue chippers just before signing day. I will call it dead if we land Mr. Kraig Appleton. We already flipped Eric Ward from OU, and he is already taking classes.

Fox News needs to hire some help

This is Chuck. He has his Bear and Wolf plus 4 silver arrow points. Therefore, Chuck has more credibility than that doosh Karl Rove.

Folks, in all seriousness I don't know if the American Democracy can handle transparent government.
