It's on.
Lebanon is about to get flattened.
This is from AP,"It said the teams would arrange for "secure transportation for American citizens who wish to depart Lebanon." There are an estimated 25,000 Americans living or working in Lebanon. U.S. officials said they assume that only a small number will choose to leave."
Then there is this piece of evidence from Guardian UK. "Two Royal Navy warships - aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious and assault ship HMS Bulwark - are preparing to set sail for Lebanon to support a possible evacuation of the 10,000 British nationals in the country if the situation deteriorates."
If the Royal Navy and the United States are about to evacuate, some bad stuff is really about to descend upon Lebanon. That is not what disturbs me. 25,000 American citizens are living and working in Lebanon? That is a huge number. Why? I'm sure its the lifestyle, freedoms, and food. I've never been there so what do I really know. I just picture that place resembling a cross of an American urban ghetto and the war setting from Hue City in Full Metal Jacket. Its about to get worse. Throw in some chemical and biological agents in the wrong hands there, and the potential for something catastophic begin to come into play.
Can the United States and the UK possibly get sucked into this is the real delimma. Oh wait, those governments already are in. In fact, all industrialized nations are involved indirectly. Anything is possible at this point. With demonstrations in the streets of Baghdad and people chanting 'Death to Israel' and 'Death to America', it cant be helping with the Vietnamization of the War. I really mean Iraqinization, but didn't this not work the first time?
Things are progressing in a way that a serious reckoning will take place. To the point that the real issues of territory, soveriegnty, and security will have to be settled. In my mind, the Isrealis are moving to secure their own people, as they have a right to do. Rockets falling from the sky will not be tolerated. They will use their entire military to make sure that doesn't happen anymore. Will it be enough? Probably.
It's on because if a regional War breaks out the price of Oil will skyrocket. The global economy, and chiefly that of the United States, could and most certainly would work its way into recession. Which country stand the most to gain here? Iran. They are playing its enemies perfectly. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the President of Iran is quoted saying, ""In the near future we will witness the rapid collapse of the Zionist regime." He is credited with helping take over the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979. If Saddam was Hitler, this guy is Rommel. He is studying us and picking us apart like a disciplined prize fighter. Eventually, somebody is going to have to deal with Ahmadinejad. Lets hope its not while rockets are falling on Boston.
